Frequently Asked Questions

When is the sponsorship deadline?

Great question! You'll need to have raised at least 80% of your fundraising target, which comes to £400 of the overall £500 goal, by January 21, 2025. You're doing an amazing job, and we're cheering you on every step of the way!

I can no longer attend. Can I get a refund?

We're sorry to hear that you can't make it. Unfortunately, the registration fees are non-refundable, regardless of the amount paid. But we're sure there will be more opportunities to join us in the future!

I want to bring my children. What is the minimum age?

For this particular trip, participants need to be at least 18 years old due to safety regulations. However, if you'd like to bring a baby under 2, we're open to discussing the necessary arrangements. Let's make it a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone!

Will I need a VISA?

Good news! If your passport has at least six months of validity left, you won't need a visa to enter Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT) as a tourist. You'll be granted entry for up to three months upon arrival.

Will I get questioned or stopped at the airport?

Last year, our team passed through without any issues, but given the current situation, you might experience some questioning and security checks upon arrival and departure from Israel. If you have any concerns, feel free to reach out to the Israeli Embassy in London for more information.

What happens if I am denied entry?

While we can't guarantee entry into the Palestinian territory if denied by officials, we hope for the best. If, unfortunately, you're sent back to the UK, we won't be able to provide assistance. However, we're here to support you with any questions or preparations you might need.

Will I need travel insurance?

Yes, travel insurance is a must! It will cover your entire stay, including travel to the occupied territories of Palestine and participation in the race. It's all about keeping you safe and secure.

I’m worried about traveling to Palestine on my own. Can I speak to someone to seek some assurance?

Absolutely! We're a super supportive team at Penny Appeal, and we're here to make sure you feel safe, comfortable, and excited for the trip. Join us at the team briefing day to meet fellow participants, discuss trip details, and address any concerns you might have. It's a wonderful chance to forge new friendships and make unforgettable memories. Feel free to email us at [email protected] with any questions.

Is it safe running in Palestine?

Your safety is our top priority. The organisers of Run Palestine are closely monitoring the situation and will ensure that all necessary safety measures are in place. We'll only proceed with the event if we can guarantee a safe environment for everyone involved.

Where exactly will we be running?

The run will take place in the historic and beautiful Church of Nativity in the centre of the Old City of Bethlehem, Manger Square, West Bank. It's a truly inspiring location!

In case of a medical emergency, will there be support available?

Absolutely! We'll have an ambulance and medical station approximately every 200 meters after each main drink station along the marathon route, including at 5km, 10km, 15km, and the finish. Medics will be present at every intermediary station to provide assistance whenever needed.

Can I personally supply people in Palestine with aid?

While the Israeli authorities have strict rules about what can be brought in, rest assured, there will be plenty of opportunities to distribute aid in Palestine through Penny Appeal. It's all about coming together to make a difference!
